One Trick To Make Intermittent Fasting Easier

Intermittent fasting (IF) is not only healthy, but it’s a great way to lose weight. I have personally used it to lose a lot of unwanted fat. In fact, I IF  most days of the week. But my biggest problem is getting back into it after a full day of eating.

After a full day of eating, I’m normally very hungry the following day. Sometimes I’m hungrier than if I had not eaten at all. Getting though the late part of the mornings and the afternoons are the most difficult times for me. But I have found one trick that helps me push past those points in the day when I really want to eat. What is that trick? I give myself tasks.

By tasks I mean anything that I can or need to accomplish. For example, when I start getting hungry, I will tell myself I have to mow the lawn first or something like that. After that, I’m normally not hungry and can sustain my fast for a few more hours. If I get hungry again and it is still not time to eat, I will simply give myself another task. Another example is going to the gas station to fill up my car.

The task can be anything. It just has to be something that you do, something that takes action. This will take your mind off of your hunger. In contrast, it can’t be a passive activity like watching a movie or listening to a podcast. In my experience, passive activities just allow me to focus on the hunger.

So next time you are intermittent Fasting and you’er having a hard time making it to your eating window, try this trick. And don’t forget to share this post if you found this helpful!

My 30 Day Weight Loss Journey 8/17/16

Unfortunately I have bad news on two major issues. First off the scale is up a pound and a half. I weighed in at 207.5 today. But I did have a lot of sugar last night so it was to be expected.

Another problem was that I did not get to run today. I got kicked in the leg last night in class. I really did not think much of it when it happened. And it really did not hurt that much until I tried running this morning. Instead I lifted weights. I did a chest and bicep workout.

Later today, I went back to the gym and tried to run again. Still could not do it. I decided to get in the pool for a while and let my leg rest. I really hope I can run tomorrow. I’m thinking of taking on another mile.

For food today I fasted for about twenty hours. Then I had a feast of salad and meat. Here are the picks. 13934626_863193037115345_1306704565697271081_n 14040178_863192923782023_5512589560622569359_n 14045972_863192920448690_5824429766755926337_n 14051566_863193067115342_733897499473887431_n14079897_863193043782011_3631511768819521843_n

So that is all for today. Hope things go better tomorrow.

Daily Weight Loss Update: More Success 8/10/16!!!

Awesome day. It was my second day in a row that I weighed in at 208. So excited. Let’s hope I will see the same or a better number tomorrow.

So instead of listing out the food and then the workout, I thought what I would do is walk you though the last 24 hours and cover both.

Last 24 Hours

It started last night. I was still very hungry so I ate one more half bowl of chili and one more brownie. However, I did not stuff myself. I was just barely satisfied.

I got up this morning at 6 AM and ran my 4 miles. It was not my best time. It took me 41:20 min. There was some walking. Currently I am doing my best to run 3 miles before taking a short break and running the rest of my last mile. I have done this two days in a row. But today; however, I did not make it. I ran about 2 and quarter mile before I needed a break. Then I walked and ran the last mile and three quarters.

After a 17 hour fast, I went to an all-you-can-eat restaurant. The pictures below are self explanatory.  13894993_858652864236029_8118175170029576314_n  13920942_858652840902698_8830812832899460667_n 13920953_858652834236032_3503618795379522144_n13939570_858652877569361_6884908293654261642_n

All pretty much low carb. Lots of meat and veggies. However, even though I ate what looks like a significant amount of food, I was still hungry.

Later I went back to the gym and worked on shoulders and back. It was about a half hour workout. Then it was off to Jujitsu for an hour and a half. Awesome class, built up a great sweat. Very exhausting!

Got home and had about a half bowl of turkey stew. It was thickened with cream and rice something or other. No gluten; very low carb.

Dessert was one organic peanut butter-dark-chocolate cup.

A few things in closing. I’m not sure if I’m getting enough food. I know it looks like a lot but I am also working out like crazy and fasting. The reason I say this is that I am still very hungry. Tomorrow is a big workout day. Running, weights, Yoga, Martial Arts. If I meet all my workout goals, and my weight is still in check, I plan on eating a bit more.

We will see you all tomorrow!
